Review on Carrs 126332 Super Hoop Step by George Robinson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

very satisfied body and trim camper

I don't need nerf bars as I have a 2012 2500HD with a Duramax extended cab, there is a front end alignment kit. I researched the Carr Super Hoops and liked how they looked on the Chevy Silverado, I couldn't find any reviews for newer 2011-2013 Duramax models, they have completely different brackets due to the DEF tank on the underside of the passenger seat, these Brackets are not universal and designed for these diesel trucks. The instructions require you to assemble the brackets to the steps, then take the entire assembly and line up the center of the step with the front of the seat in a normal sitting position. This is where you mark the spot for the truck to drill the mounting holes. Once you have made the correct marks on the door rocker you can drill your own holes, two 11/32 holes. If you assembled the stage in one go, the 11/32 holes should be there, no clearance if you didn't time it at all, and trying to hold the stage in place to secure the bolts was a pain in the ass. but I managed it with my wife's extra hand. I chose the passenger side, there's a DEF tank, a little different. This time I didn't mount the step to the brackets but used a 3/8 drill bit, a bit more that gave me some wiggle room, marked my location, drilled the holes, installed the brackets, then installed the step on the brackets, it Took two hours following directions, I did it in 1/2 hour. Now it's all said and done, well worth it, got polished steps, truck is white, looks like hell, steps are solid and work well, wife is even happy, much easier on and off Truck, very good quality
