Not a big fan of the evil version. I write a lot of letters to my wife and prefer the no wick option for two reasons. 1) Wicks tend to die off. This type of wax is not intended to keep a candle burning. You have to hold it at the right angle so the wax melts and the flame doesn't go out. 2) Because the flame is so weak it will take some time to melt enough wax to use the sealer. So parts when it dries before you have enough to seal. I like the wickless version and I just use one of those little round white candles and a spoon to melt the wax. Then I cut off a small piece, let it melt while I write the letter, and when I'm done, it's done. Other things to watch out for: If you use a lot of wax it will cover up the writing on the opposite side of the paper. Has a tendency to bind very tightly and is more likely to break when trying to open it. For this reason I use it on the envelope and not on the letter itself.
