I think it's a pretty good tool. I've never made slices that thin. However, I bought it for my wife as she has a habit of manipulating a piece of cheese and thought this would be the solution. However, she cannot hold cheese and cut it with a tool. I plan on making thin slices for them and storing them in a separate bag. I like it and will keep it. I recommend this tool, but if your arm strength is questionable, a guillotine cutter might be the way to go.
