This is amazing! All it takes is patience and you can make any piece of wood look like you've varnished it to a gloss finish. I use them for sharpening knife flakes and after rough sharpening I use these pads from 1500 grit down to 12000 grit. If you have the patience to sand things and want a flawless finish, this is perfect! I went for 3 x 4 strips, although they also make 2 x 2s. I cut them in half to make 2 sets of 2 x 3 strips. NOTE: Pads are colored and color coded to identify different grits. Some colors are difficult to distinguish if you have poor vision or are color blind. So far every set I've ordered has been packaged in grit order, so I take a permanent marker and write a number from 1 to 9 on the foam edge of my sanding pad to determine from coarse to fine. I've put the same number on the included color chart to make it easier to tell which pad I'm using.
