My mother was appalled. I would use contact paper over this marble but I honestly hate the color of the fireplace in our bedroom since the day we moved in. I got tired of looking at this but didn't want to spend real money to fix something that wasn't broken so it seemed like a good inexpensive fix. I was incredibly careful with the cuts, used a paper cutter and an Xacto knife and I think it came out pretty well. I honestly don't think you would watch it a second time if you didn't know I just made that ugly pink and brown marble from the park with my own hands. I had about 2 square feet (hell) but for $30 I'd call it a win!
