Internal corrosion after two months of use

I bought two, installed one immediately and kept the other for storage. Two months after I installed the first one, it stopped spinning. After disassembling, I found that the ball bearing inside was badly rusted, apparently due to dissimilar metals and water ingress. I oiled the inside of the second one and installed it, I hope it will hold up this time. If you live in a dry climate it will probably work fine, but I wouldn't recommend it in the rainy Northeast. In any case, I recommend lubricating the inner barrel and ball before assembly.
