Others point out that the 1 liter version is made in Japan. I have a 1.2L and it says 'Made in Japan' on the box. Regardless, the one I have is of very good quality and great for casting - it doesn't get any better than this. It's well made and heats up quickly (using the high BTU burner on my stovetop). Although this kettle doesn't have a 'whistle', I have found that due to the fact that it isn't tight, the lid vibrates and rings like an alarm clock when the water boils rapidly. Of course this is not intentional and may not be suitable for every teapot, but for me it is both useful and fun. The only downside I would give this kettle (1.2L) is the price which has actually gone up since I ordered it. 50€ is overpriced. Other than that, if pourovers are your thing, this is perfect.
