I had to extend my home network about 800 feet to control some of the solar panels on my well pump. I buried straight Cat5e cable along with plumbing many years ago and then found that the distance limit was about 300 feet. I found these extensions, plugged them in and AMAZING! My ethernet now includes the ability to access data in the enphase envoy on my well pump's solar panels. Spectacular! Edit March 2017 Still working fine, I've now added an ethernet switch to the fountain pump and also monitor the on/off status of the fountain pump from my house as the pump relay seems to be stuck for a few days. ' and consumes 32 kWh instead of the usual 1 kWh. I wish I could buy a 1 to 4 expander version of this unit right now, just tried to buy one but Amazon says they are not available.
