I carry knives every day and bought this stone to take with me to sharpen in the field. I like the size and quality of the stone for the money. The diamond side seems to do a good job of repairing any shavings that may appear, and the ceramic side comes in handy for sharpening the edge so it stays set throughout use. The leather slip is a bit thinner than I would like and looks like it could be faux leather so I doubt it can be used as a thong but it keeps the stone from getting dirty and keeps oil from getting on the stone reached. from getting into my pockets. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase.
