Review on 3M 03210 Clean Sand System by Pat Slater

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Thoughtful design, great price

I've been a homeowner for about 20 years and in that time I've sanded a lot of plaster and putty off, ie inhaled a lot, rinsed out my hair a lot, got a bushel in my eyes, a lot too haunted home. I've searched but never found anything that was both affordable and not crappy. Until I found this gem. love love love Connecting to a vacuum cleaner with an adapter is easy. The end of the adapter is a little big for my industrial vacuum hose, but it works great on the inlet of the machine body. I see that as a problem that Shop Vac ships these things with a hose that is too small. The sandpaper is easy to apply and little to no dust is left on the handle when sanding. It takes some getting used to. The suction pulls the sanding block to the surface, so there is more resistance to back and forth movement than one would expect. A nifty vacuum regulator on the back of the sanding block helps you regulate the pressure, and I quickly learned how to use the device. It worked great both for sanding down the paint before I touch up the plaster and smoothing out the putty after it dried. .

Pros
  • body repair tool
Cons
  • boring packaging
