Review on Deeper PRO Smart Sonar - Portable WiFi Fish Finder for Kayaks, Boats, and Ice Fishing on Shore by Douglas Davis

I don't usually write reviews but I have to write about this product so potential buyers can be careful. That does not work. I used it at Kastaik Lake. If you enable Fish ID, everything will appear as a fish (which the manual says is incorrect). But unless the fish's ID is tagged, I've never seen "signs" of fish on my phone screen, even though we caught 4-7 pound minke whales left and right. We fished at a depth of about 100 feet, select "Detailed Smart Rendering" and uncheck "Fish Icons". As for the depth readings, at times they were off by 20 feet or more. We used a Power Pro Depth Hunter braided line to measure depth and compare to Deeper sonar readings. Far away. Just as a precaution, we used a different colored braid, Saltiga Boat Braid, to measure and get the same results. When I first went fishing I didn't see any fish tracks and thought there were no fish (because we didn't catch any actual fish). But a few weeks later it worked again, and since then a few days off. We have always fished but we have never seen any sign of fish on this sonar. By the time I realized it was crap it was too late to ask for a refund. I researched and watched several YouTube videos posted by people who have used it successfully. Now I'm wondering if these guys work for the company that made this product. $200 down the drain. :-(
