Just bought this for my large 2008 caravan and my mechanic fitted it. I bought a Dodge about 2 weeks ago and after checking the heater hose assembly found it was original. The Y-piece on these heater hose assemblies typically fails after 5 years or 50-60,000 miles. My wife has a large 2008 RV and her valve failed in a 65,000 mile traffic jam, causing a flood of antifreeze all over the engine. The extended warranty does not cover repair costs as this assembly is considered a "heater hose" which is not covered under warranty. It is considered a "Service Item”. The dealer will sell you both heater hose assemblies and aluminum tubing that attaches to the firewall and leads to the rear heater for over $100. This is the part that usually fails as it sits directly above the exhaust manifold and is exposed to the high heat of the exhaust manifold causing premature failures. I'd rather replace it now than have it fail on the road leading to towing and the mercy of an unknown repair shop. For me, replacing this knot is cheap insurance in the long run.
