I spent more than usual on this light because I had a Light & Motion headlight that worked great for years, so I decided to try the tail light. It broke on the first ride. There's a feature to quickly detach it from the bike mount, and the light's connection point to the base is a thin piece of plastic. The light didn't hit my bike. As I approached the station, I stumbled a bit in my direction, but I pulled myself together. I heard something hit the ground and it was the tail light. It broke right at the intersection. I thought the brightness and sidelights were great. I like that it also has a reflective aspect. It's hard to say if I'll give it another chance after this first trip. ****update***** lit up on his third ride since he superglued the initial tear. This time I climbed over the hatch and the light broke again! The clasp on the bike strap broke so now I can't put it back on the bike. Too expensive for such crappy durability
