150 lumens, flash/strobe!

Super bright. Great quality item made in the USA. The latest model (fall 2017) has 4 modes, my favorite is pulse combined with strobe. The light is adjustable vertically. High quality straps, aluminum body. Charges via USB in about 4 hours. I bought mine at a local bike shop, it's cheaper (!) and easier to return.

Almost perfect for attaching a saddlebag.

Almost perfect for attaching a saddlebag. This light makes me very visible day and night. My only problem was that I needed a reliable method of attaching it to the belt on the back of the saddlebag. The clip opens and closes with the red button, but may slip off when hitting a bump. After some thought, the ideal job came to mind. A very thick rubber band that wraps around the flashlight and clip. Now it's perfect

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Some issues

Very bright light and fairly easy to use. I like that the light has a blinking pattern but is also always on and there is a solid option. A few disappointments though: - The mount leaves a lot to be desired as road dirt collects on it and causes it to slide. The USB port cover is a weak point. Mine started to loosen almost immediately and broke very quickly (within months) or with normal use. - their warranty service sucks! To fix their broken USB connector cover, they wanted me to pay $20 for…

Great for solo travelers but terrible for group travel.

This rear light has four modes. The first three modes are very bright, with slightly different intensities and flashes, and the fourth mode is a super-dim (useless) orange glow. This tail light is a fantastic safety device when driving alone, best I have seen. But on a group ride, all three bright modes are too dazzling for drivers behind you (and the super-dark fourth mode is silly - too dark to be of any use). You'd think it would make sense for a company like Light & Motion to enable a…

Almost indestructible

After six years of intensive use on the daily commute to work and on vacation, this rear light has finally given up the ghost, so of course I ordered a new one. After years of using small and cheap poor quality flashlights I would never buy any other model again. I like the pulsing light and am a little disappointed that the new version also has strobe lights - strobe lights really annoy me. The case is incredibly strong - I had to carry a hammer to my old one to get the battery for recycling…

Works well. Until you need Light & Motion support

Update after 2 months of use. Somewhere the USB cover has come loose, so the lamp can only be used on dry days, which is usually not so common here. Used Light & Motion web contact to inquire about cap replacement, was told they would reply in 4-7 days, almost a month, and still no reply. Their website says that if you try to complete a failed request you end up at the bottom of their list!?!? WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS! Don't expect their guarantee to make much of a difference if you don't get a

Great light but short lived - do not buy

I spent more than usual on this light because I had a Light & Motion headlight that worked great for years, so I decided to try the tail light. It broke on the first ride. There's a feature to quickly detach it from the bike mount, and the light's connection point to the base is a thin piece of plastic. The light didn't hit my bike. As I approached the station, I stumbled a bit in my direction, but I pulled myself together. I heard something hit the ground and it was the tail light. It broke…

Swing and skip this light.

I'm usually a big L&M fan. I've probably had five or six different lights over the years and would recommend them to anyone who wants quality light. The fit and finish was great, quality materials, good lenses and they don't beat the specs. But the Vis 180 Pro is quite swinging and misses. The flashlight itself is very nice, metal body, bright LEDs, good battery, has endured hundreds of rides in rain, sleet and snow. But fastening is generally a trifle. This is the deadliest design I've ever…
