More like silver color than satin nickel.
Suitable. Instead of nailing it down I used glue and it seems to be holding up great. My only issue is that the finish looks pretty cheap. All the lamps in the bedroom are real nickel and they don't match at all. More like silver paint. If I knew that, I could paint my old ones for free.
