Review on 22-Piece Crochet Hooks Set - BetyBedy Aluminum Handle Knitting Needles in Multicolor for Yarn Craft - 0.6~6.5mm Crochet Needles by Amanda Castillo

I used a 5.0 mm crochet hook for about half a giant ball. I wasn't sure where my knits were after moving and ordered them because they were cheap and allowed me to start my project. I encountered an issue where my grip started to slip and I had to wipe my fingers and hook. While sweat and oil always make the hook slippery, this seems to be more common. I found other crochet hooks and compared the 5mm needle to the Boye H/8 (5mm) needle. The Boye hook is a little longer, but the flat part of the handle is a little farther from the hook. It also has the size on one side and the brand logo on the other, meaning a better grip. The combination of the smooth back of this hook and the handle found elsewhere on the hook is probably why this hook is a bit unpopular which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. It worked in a pinch though, and if you want to learn how to crochet without spending a fortune, this isn't a bad kit. The hooks are smooth and won't snag, which is important. The benefit of this set for me is that it comes with some hook sizes that I didn't have before as the US hook sizes are 0.25mm and 0.75mm. while this set is all whole and half mm sizes. It filled some gaps and might come in handy one day. I don't usually use knitting yarn (I'm not that patient), but this set of crochet hooks (smaller silver ones) have a lot more hooks than my other set and they're longer, so when I'm trying to do some finishing work they'll be easier to use.
