Not your traditional umbrella
The umbrella covers a good area without the bulky base of a traditional umbrella to trip over. It does move around a lot more in the wind but it has been sturdy since installed. I used a 4" PVC pipe buried in the ground as a base. Added a 2" PVC pipe for the umbrella to sit on inside the 4" pipe. Added a 1.5" PVC inside and extended up to add stability. Drilled a hole straight through and added a bolt to stop left and right twisting in the wind. As long as it is not too breezy, it's good. Added a second umbrella to cover a good part of the outside living area.
