Review on 💦 Jebao DCP Sine Wave Water Return Pump (DCP-2500): Enhanced Performance in Sleek Black Design by Jeff Dawson

Well, I tested three of these pumps before realizing that Jebao's factory implementation doesn't work as an external pump... it leaks rotating front housing protected by a 2-1/2" o-ring and 1/16" wide. I ordered 1/8" spacers but they were too big and I couldn't secure the front port to the pump body. I then tried the stock gasket with...drum roll....1/2" MEGATAPE (3.5 mil thick) – i removed the o-ring, put two wraps under the o-ring and replaced it and then one wrap around all the threaded connections.This sealed the front cover and housing and ran absolutely leak-free for days.As for the pump itself, it really is very good I use it to mix a 44g freshwater tank and a 32g salt tank (attached together with PVC and ball valves) for our mixed reef aquarium and you can't even hear the pump running It's on 65 % set and I like the auto-sensing features: if I accidentally leave the ball valve closed or the water runs out, it will fall down by itself, if you use this externally you'll need 3.5mil MEGATAPE again u Under the front housing O-ring and around the threads. 4 stars as there was a headache you know what to do to stop the leak. For example "3 pumps, a set of gaskets, a trip to Lowes and then a brilliant idea", a pain you know... but luckily for you I got the job done :-) UPDATE: March 15th 2022 External , the pump has been working for about two weeks and shows no signs of leakage. The changes I made with MEGATAPE seem to have fixed the problem. This is MUCH faster and easier than pumping water out of tanks. Super happy.
