A few years ago my parents surprised me by cleaning a Mr. AutoDry for me. The kit included a water gun, soap and a couple of filters. I used this setup for about 10 years before accidentally putting it aside. When I broke it I saw I had run out of filters so I went to buy new ones. and found that the product line had been discontinued. I refuse to pay scalpers who sell water gun filters so I got rid of the kit to the dismay of me and my family members who used to let me wash their cars. Years passed, we just go to the car wash. However, since my father is finishing and driving his recently restored 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, again we need a lower pressure water cleaning method because he rightly refuses to pressure wash the car. or go through an automatic car wash. This built-in filter seemed like the best option since the Mr. Clean AutoDry shows no signs of respawning. And I am very happy to report that this filter works ALMOST the same as the AutoDry gun! Recently I had to leave my car, a 2011 Mazda3, parked outside due to some garage work. After a short, heavy downpour, my car was completely covered with hard water stains. So I connected this filter to a hose tap, connected the hose to the other end of the filter and literally just flushed the car. No soaping, no wiping, no drying except for a short ride afterwards. This removed most of the water stains from my car. Some stains remained but as I didn't wash or wipe the car I was impressed. Encouraged by this, my father rolled out the Camaro. The front of the car was covered in bug debris and he wanted to wax the paint. When my dad rinsed, washed, wiped and washed again and I dried, we were able to clean his Camaro (painted black!) very well leaving only a few very small hard water droplets on the paint. Waxing and buffing removed the stains easily. One important detail I forgot to mention is the water hardness. It may just be where we live, but the tap water in our garden is VERY hard, so drinking from a hose is not recommended. The days I used my gun, Mr. AutoDry clean, one filter lasts for one to three washes depending on the size of the car being washed and how dirty the car is. That this filter removes so many minerals and other particles from the water is very impressive and my father and I are very happy with the results on our respective vehicles. This is a feature that I cannot comment on. a while. I don't know how long this filter will last given the hardness of our water. And since there are water conservation measures in place where I live now, my dad and I will probably limit the use of yard water to water the lawn and use this filter to wash his Camaro only when needed. But if the filter doesn't give up soon, I'll happily buy another one when it runs out.
