Too fat and clumsy.
The principle is great, but the big problem with this device is its uncomfortable thickness and the parallax errors it causes. Finally, you need a second person to see the placement of the image from a distance, which severely limits its usefulness. If you accidentally hang a picture in the middle of a large room, that's okay. But for aligning a series of images with an architectural feature or with each other, it's useless unless you have a person you can recognize from afar. If they had a steel or aluminum version as thick as a steel ruler. or triangles, that would certainly fit.
