Review on Solid Wood Ferment It Sauerkraut Pounder - Optimal Vegetable Fermentation Tool by Daniel Pesicek

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It helps to use the right tool for the job

Before I got this pound, I tried to use other all-purpose kitchen tools like wooden spoons or potato mashers to ferment my sauerkraut and other fermented vegetables in to pack glasses. . I'm not a fan of "single taskers" in the kitchen, so I really didn't want to buy a herb masher that basically just does one job in the kitchen. realized that there was a lot to be said for using the right tool for the job. This tool makes the job better and easier than anything else in my kitchen and I'm sure my herb has gotten better too. I chose this particular product because it is made from a single piece of wood rather than multiple pieces glued together. Some people don't like having the glue used to laminate the pieces in contact with their prized fermented veggies. To prevent the wood from cracking, it is advisable to rub some oil into the wood so that it does not dry out too much. . I use olive oil and let mine sit for at least a day or two after applying a coat of oil to it before using until there is no oily residue left on the surface.
