Review on High-Performance Swisstop FlashPro (Shim/SRAM Road) Brake Pads - A Must-Have for Superior Braking by Adam Walsh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent brake pads. Terrible screws!

I have finally been able to fit these pads to my brakes and they are a godsend compared to stock or cheap pads. Compared to my previous brake pads, they have much more stopping power. With light contact with the rim, the pads have excellent modulation when you need to slow down a bit on corner entry or when you come to a steady stop. Based on that, I am sure that if you really step on the brakes, they will stop you and your bike quickly in an emergency. It's hard to describe how good these pads are, but my bike felt completely different (in a good way) after putting these pads on it. The only drawback to these brake pads are the supplied screws. Terrible! They had blue locks and required a 2mm hex key. Three of the four screws were rounded and I had to pry them out with pliers. I removed the last locking bolt and just cleaned the old bolts to use with the brake pads. If you use these screws I recommend cleaning the threads or using new screws from your local hardware store with at least a 2.5mm hex or something better (e.g. Phillips, Torx head).
