We eat cheese and crackers almost every night, so we cut a lot of cheese. And we understand that they wear out over time, so we will buy several at once. We like this design compared to the competition. BUT. They just don't make them the way they used to be. The metal was chipping on some as mentioned in other reviews. Our biggest problem was the wire. It stretches and pulls away from the end posts no matter how careful we are. We have a much older Presto, probably over ten years old, that doesn't have this problem. They're cheap (cheap), but they're cheaply made (junk).
