They are so thick because of the silicone on the tips that I have a hard time picking up food. It's like trying to fix something small with mittens on. I would not buy again. Take regular tongs of the same brand, no silicone, just stainless steel, and you can take anything, the tiniest bits of food, and it's literally an extension of your hand. I always use steel and almost never silicone because they are very difficult to use.
