Amazing little device. It's easy to calibrate and has subsequently given me consistent/repeated measurements on various types of wood - pine, walnut and oak - that I have in my basement. I'm not testing accuracy on any known device or anything, but the readings I got make sense based on when and where I acquired each tree. The walnut was bought from a good hardwood store and was all kiln dried and the sizes were mostly between 6.5% and 8%. Some pine was taken off the counter at the orange shop the day before and was 13-15%. Another pine I received a few weeks earlier had dropped to 11-12%. This all seems reasonable, so I'm guessing it's pretty accurate. I'm glad I bought it too as I know I'll probably make it wait 6-12 months for a future project to avoid using one of the walnut pieces that cost 9.5%. Now I'll take the device to the store and find a replacement that's already at 6.5-7% and ready to go.
