I received the monitor about a week ago so thought I'd share some preliminary results. I'm not a gamer but will use this portable monitor when traveling in our special Sprinter conversion van. I wanted to use the large 17" 1080p screen as a second monitor for my laptop when I'm on the road and for streaming TV and movies while camping. Small size and weight are key factors as van space is limited. But I need a high quality picture to watch movies and play sports on the go. This monitor offers an excellent balance of picture quality, connectivity and display at a reasonable price. I know people will say it's expensive compared to larger, higher resolution desktop monitors, but you're missing the point of this comparison. You buy it for the portability - desktop monitors are just that; too big and bulky to be mobile. This 17 inch monitor weighs 1 lb 15 oz on my kitchen scale. For comparison, my iPad weighs 1 pound for a 9.5 inch screen. The portability is amazing. The frame is pretty thin. It comes with a protective case but I have a feeling that if you drop it without a cover it will be damaged fairly easily. The picture is very beautiful, sharp. I had no dead pixels on my screen. Viewing angles are good and the screen is matte, which is good for van life. I have attached some screenshots. The screen displays Netflix via iPad very well. Colors are bright, accurate and black resolution is very good - with no odd shadows. When I use it as a mirrored monitor for my iPad, the colors displayed by the monitor are less accurate - much grainy - and light colors are too bright. I'm not a techie, but this could be an issue with how the iPad entitles it in its native environment transmits. Netflix looked great through the iPad app, but other apps were color saturated. I also tested the monitor with my wife's Windows laptop connected via the display port to a mini HDMI adapter (provided free of charge after contacting Cocopar support!) and it worked. In short, the sound is what you'd expect from a portable monitor - nothing fancy, but a nice feature nonetheless. I will be using Sonos bluetooth speakers in the van. If you are looking for a good 1080p high resolution portable monitor, you will be satisfied with your purchase. If you're into gaming and/or need ultra-accurate color and resolution customization, you might want to look at a more expensive 4k monitor with faster refresh times. I don't need that precision. As a portable second monitor for a laptop with streaming video, this is a great solution for the price. I would also like to thank their support team - I contacted them about the DP to mini HDMI adapter and received it straight away at no extra cost. Price. Although I'm not familiar with the brand, I find this to be a very encouraging sign that they are willing to support their products and listen to customer needs.
