Ridiculous. I've worked on every car I've had since I was 18 and it was the first oil wrench I ever bought. 26 years later. Now I have a Chevy Volt that looks rusty underneath and I was worried I wouldn't be able to remove the filter. Getting old sucks, and honestly I'm tired of crippling my hands and never knowing if the filters actually move. It was a little tricky, but ONLY because I didn't want to jack the car up, so I did it. blindly with left hand, lying on back. Not perfect, but it worked, and then, phew, a few turns of the ratchet and everything is fine. I would NEVER undo this thing with my hands. It costs $12. it is incredibly durable and compact. I don't think bending anything on this tool is even an option.
