I haven't used this for Arduino Leonardo related projects, but flashed it with a CP2104 to use as a GIM-X adapter to connect my Logitech G27 peripheral wheel to a Playstation 4 use. In that regard, it worked great. What I liked the most is that this board comes with solderless headers. As for uses outside of my specific use case, this is essentially the Pro Micro version of the Arduino Leonardo. The reason you could use this instead of the ATMEGA328P based Arduino Pro Micro or Uno R3 is that the 32U4 can act as a USB controller (whereas the 328P uses a separate ATMEGA16U2 chip as a USB serial adapter or even a CH340 on cheaper Chinese used). clones). So you can use this type of board if you want to create a USB input device for your computer, for example. If you're just doing Arduino-based projects without needing these extras, the Arduino 328P can be found for a lot less.
