Review on πŸ”„ EDGE INDUSTRIAL Reusable Adapter Fitting by Michael Powell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

What I needed best in fittings

After many years my old air hose started leaking at the end. Instead of wasting money on a new one, I looked for parts and found this one. The old 3/8" hose has an OD of 11/16" which was necessary for proper attachment. When installing I applied some air tool oil to the outside of the hose and slipped the outer sleeve over the hose. First I took care of the square cutout. After screwing the outer part all the way in with a wrench, it's time to install the part inside the hose. Reapply air tool oil to threads and trunnions before starting. Wrenches were used to fully insert the part into the hose. Connected the repaired hose to the compressor to check for leaks but there weren't any. Wrap a few turns of teflon tape around the end, then thread the quick connector onto the repaired hose. Checked again for leaks, no. Completely satisfied and it was cheaper than buying a new hose.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
