Review on πŸ”₯ ASUS RT-AC66R: Next-Level Performance with Dual-Band Wireless-AC1750 Gigabit Router by Colin Zilinskas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

5G worked well. Basic testing done

Tried the latest version of ASUS FM 3602, 5G disappeared after the upgrade. When I went back to the version below (3.0.0.4.376.2524) I saw 5G again. Also tried the latest Merlin (which is based on 3.0.0.4.376_3677) and DD-WRT, 5G worked fine. 5G range was less than 2.4G, worked well. The router was warm but not hot. Now he was working as a repeater, so far so good. I also had a Netgear R6700. In my setup when I compare them side by side it looks like the R6700 has a little more coverage. Read More Perhaps the latest FM has a flaw when it comes to this. The reason I say this is because all the other FM, Merlin, dd-wrt and my Netgear worked fine, I think they should all follow the same rule. I live near the airport, I think most people who have problems with 5G have the same condition. ASUS FM Utility is a very useful tool that was used to install all types of FM. He's just now returning to Stock FM, just not least as a repeater. Thought about returning it but found that using it as a repeater isn't a bad idea and FM can be updated. ASUS may release a new version to fix the issue. It should be remembered that in an attempt to avoid a hot work environment, coverage has been said to have declined over time. I think this may be due to overheating. Updated on 01/15/2015, the latest firmware 3.0.0.4.376.3754 solved the problem with 5G.
