These simple skewers do the trick! I soaked them in water for a few hours before using them indoors on a grill pan and our kebabs turned out perfect. No splinters, no discernible aftertaste, no burning or charring, no breakage. Simple and accessible. When grilling outdoors, first moisten a wooden skewer to prevent burning. I plan to use them outdoors once the BBQ area reopens in our community.
