Very easy to install, looks good and reliable. As a police officer who has been trained in CEPTED and other crime prevention techniques, I can say that this extra lock works well to deter door picking. Plus, it prevents your little ones from opening the front door and sneaking out into the street. My installation suggestion. Find out where it fits best on your door frame by lifting it up and making sure the door doesn't come in contact with the lock when opening and closing. Then circle the screw plate and leave a mark on the frame. Use a chisel and hammer and pry out the wood at this point by lightly gluing the tape with the chisel and hammer. Then put the screw plate in the chiseled hole. Screw in with 3 inch screws, buy it yourself. (3 inches provide extra security). Putty on wood, sand and paint. When it's done it looks perfect. (Yes, I still need to sand and paint for the final finish)
