I like these hooks the most. I used to use Boye aluminum hooks. This crochet style is more curved and more difficult to crochet quickly without splitting the yarn. I used a cotton blend, so that might have played a part too. I've knitted five of these, shawls and scarves, and they're holding up well. The grip material is reminiscent of the thin padding of a bicycle handlebar or Crocs sponge foam padding. It's very comfortable and not bulky at all. The hooks themselves scratch the metal a bit, but I haven't had any hooking issues so far. I will update my review when this happens. I'm not allergic to metal, which was a big concern for me as some base metals can cause a reaction. It's not like this. This is a good set at a reasonable price. I recommend it to my knitting friends.
