? My Whirlpool Microwave started sparking/sparking and not just a small spark. This microwave was actually a replacement for the same model that did exactly the same thing. However, this one was out of warranty after about two months and as it is built into the fairing kit I had no desire to replace it. I decided to go online and see what could be causing this problem. The first thing that came to mind was the waveguide cover. I took mine out and examined it and it had a very small burned spot on it. I didn't really think something so simple could cause the problem, but they were cheap so I gave it a try. To my surprise and delight, it worked and is so easy to replace. Needless to say, I am very satisfied.
