First good. This is a reinforced stud mount that goes through a standard 3/8" hole like a regular stud mount. The plastic washer/insulator is oversized to spread the weight, but the protrusion that needs to fit the hole in your mount is still 3/8" so you don't have to buy special mounts or drill a larger hole to accommodate it to get it fitted. The SO-239 socket on the bottom is for the included hex wrench. It can be used in combination with the wrench on top to really twist and tighten the bolt to ensure it doesn't come loose. No lock washer was supplied but given how tight I can tighten it shouldn't be a problem. Despite everything, the unit looked used upon arrival. Mine was supplied by Advanced Specialties Inc. There was obvious cosmetic damage and dirt on the outside of the block (not just dust, but real dirt that I had to scrape off with my fingernail), the plastic insulator is a bit faded and dirty, and there are all sorts of dents on the outside. Metal. Functionally it's fine and will do what I wanted; I have tested it with my multimeter and there is no short between the center conductor and the shield and no damage severe enough to affect the durability or intended use of the product and I plan to test it with a small amount of high concentration to clean medical alcohol and glue it's dielectrically lubricated to keep water out, but it looks like the device has been removed, used, returned, resealed, and resold. Some of the markers are machined markers where the flat sides of the top have been cut off to accommodate a wrench, but there are also some user applied wear marks. I'm not sure if this was Advanced Specialties Inc.'s fault. or ProComm as the unit was in a sealed plastic bag when it arrived. For the price paid I can't complain. The product itself is superb and in the time I've used it hasn't created the slightest flex where standard bolts would bend the metal on my truck bed. It does a great job combined with the 6" spring to provide a solid foundation for my 102" whip. However, it's a little daunting to order something and get a used/refurbished version when you were expecting a brand new version.
