I ordered them before Christmas and just tried them. And I have bad results. I ordered them for the 2-1/4" compression nuts in the package. The compression nuts are not actually a 1/4" ID as listed. They are just over 1/4 inch tall. So when you put it on a 1/4 inch dowel or bolt, the compression nut just slides free instead of cutting into it. Which defeats their purpose. The compression nuts should be slightly smaller than the specified size. The compression nut for the 1/4" should actually be slightly smaller than the 1/4" ID so it bites in and doesn't slip back.
