Review on πŸ”§ Hakko 611-2 Dual Solder Reel Stand: The Ultimate Black Solution for Efficient Soldering by Mike Hamelin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is not cheap junk

The stand is heavy which is good as it will not tip over when fresh solder is pulled from a fresh spool. Fine solder is simply threaded onto the included plastic spindles, which can be easily removed from the back and replaced. If your solder breaks, you're pulling too fast. Assembly is easy and Hakko includes an exploded assembly drawing. If you can't assemble it, you probably shouldn't have a hot iron handy. I have it on my workbench, so I can't comment on the pen other than it's there. It also has a ground screw which is a real bonus when used with an anti-static floor mat. Cheap stuff often uses the word "professional" when it obviously isn't, but Hakko really is.

Pros
  • The price is excellent
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
