I bought this lens 18 months ago and am satisfied with it. I photographed the tops of nearby mountains and climbed the mountains to photograph my garden. I studied astrophotography. Now I can tell the difference between this and a real telescope but for the price it will be an amazing lens for some people. Pros: Coverage. 1300mm is amazing and the optical quality is better than I expected. It costs a few percent of the cost of a "true" telephoto lens of the same range. If you're patient enough and not very rich, you can use it to take photos that you couldn't get any other way. Cons: You need patience to work with it. Here's what I had to do: - I had to buy a large, sturdy astronomical tripod because my regular tripod couldn't hold it. This isn't necessary if you use it during the day, but I wanted it to be my astronomical telescope as well. I had to mount the lens to an Astro dovetail rail using third-party mounting rings to keep it from bending. in the middle. That's right, when zooming to 1300 mm it bends in the middle due to its own weight. - I had to tape the lens caps (front and back) to the lens with painter's tape because the caps don't hold at all - Soon I will have to fix the camera to body adapter as it broke yesterday. Now it is still firmly attached to the lens, but rotates freely. My camera also now spins freely when trying to use this lens. The optics are almost as good as a telephoto lens. Almost a cue. Prepare to use programs like GIMP to remove chromatic aberration and improve contrast. For this reason, my image of Saturn below is in black and white. Given all these cons, I would still buy it again. Which brings me to another plus point: this lens is a great experience for anyone interested in photography and astronomy. I've learned a lot by gradually improving this lens. Now I'm ready to switch to a real telescope, but I'll keep this lens for daytime photography. Maybe planes take off. Perhaps the moon will rise over the distant mountains. Maybe bats fly in front of a huge moon. All this is possible for those who have this lens, perseverance and patience.
