Worked for a while then quit.

Pros: Worked as originally advertised Cons: Not working very well after only 4 months Bought this 4 months ago and was initially very pleased. Installs easily on my Windows 8.1 computer. It found our network perfectly (2.4 and 5GHz bands) and connected fairly easily. Speed tests with this adapter were much better than the original adapter (which says little). I was happy until it suddenly stopped working about 3 weeks ago. First it started dropping connections. It will connect to the 2.4GHz band and then disconnect completely. Then I connected to the 5GHz band and everything was fine, but the performance wasn't great. You must log out or restart to find the 2.4 GHz band again. Also, the network speed began to drop. I sat next to the computer, my phone connected to Wi-Fi, and checked the speed on both. The computer was constantly receiving speed tests that were about 25% of the phone's speed on the same network. Eventually, when it started dropping connections during boot, I had enough. I tried everything I thought possible. I checked for updated drivers and restarted the machine several times. I uninstalled and reinstalled the device to see if that fixed it and nothing worked. I've tried several different USB ports but nothing. I read the forums, there are no tips. In the end I just gave up and bought a TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 N900 PCI Express Dual Band Wireless Adapter. Received, installed, so far so good. It's not a USB adapter that fits my desktop but doesn't help you when you need a USB adapter.
