Fast internet is good for network adapters

Works great. Recently changed internet provider. I switched to cable from a DSL phone company that offers leased line. With the phone company's DSL, I've had download speeds of less than 800 Mbps (usually less) and upload speeds of around 50 Mbps, despite paying 1.5 Mbps for the download. The phone company always used the excuse that I'm at the end of the phone line and the speed drops off when it reaches my house and 1.5Mbps was the only speed I could get. I have endured this bad service for…

Extremely disappointed

I have a regular who lives in the second bedroom/office so I had to move my computer to the master bedroom. The layout of the house is such that my router can only be in its current location, so I decided to connect wirelessly. For the record, my main use case is gaming, specifically Counter-Strike competitively, so any timeouts or disconnects are totally unacceptable. Previously, I found that the 2.4GHz spectrum in my building was saturated and barely active, so I knew I would need a dual-band

Worked for a while then quit.

Pros: Worked as originally advertised Cons: Not working very well after only 4 months Bought this 4 months ago and was initially very pleased. Installs easily on my Windows 8.1 computer. It found our network perfectly (2.4 and 5GHz bands) and connected fairly easily. Speed tests with this adapter were much better than the original adapter (which says little). I was happy until it suddenly stopped working about 3 weeks ago. First it started dropping connections. It will connect to the 2.4GHz…

Constant Problems with Networking Products

This little thing comes in very handy for those of you who frequently lose your internet connection because you're nowhere near your router. After installing the software and connecting this little kid, I can actually see Wi-Fi connections from across the street and a little further. I was concerned about this because some people said it slows down the connection and as a player I wouldn't want to be without it. I get EXACTLY the same download speeds when I'm in my room as when I'm two floors…

Update April 2021 --- Installation problems

Update. I bought another one of these adapters and this time installed it (using a CD) without having to enter a code like I said in my original comment. Maybe people are actually reading these comments?------------------------------ - Original commentFirst - I have the BELKIN USB device used for 10 years now. This block is very easy to install. Insert a drive, connect when prompted, and you're done. I have a second computer so I bought this one. This new version is really bad. Unlike the old…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
