Review on πŸ”Š NAD PP-2e Phono Preamp by Danielle Lopez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Incredible audiophile phono stage at an affordable price!

After using high fidelity digital audio for a few years I decided to scrap my Thorens TD 146 turntable. I have a pair of Martin Logan Scenarios with a 200w BK amplifier and a BK preamp. without a headphone jack, of course (that's when vinyl went out of fashion in the 1990s). I didn't want to spend a fortune, but I knew the cheapness would make me cringe. After doing a lot of online research with many reputable reviewers, I settled on this NAD phono stage. (I was a little jaded as I had an old NAD preamp with my Haffler amp and a couple of Dahlquist speakers years ago.) I also bought a new Ortofon Red cassette with NAD as my Grado was so old that I couldn't get my hands on needles. Substitute. When I first heard my half-speed master vinyls on Martin-Logans, I was blown away. There was no hiss, no compression and absolutely no distortion - and as an audiophile I have pretty good hearing. For the price, this NAD PP 2e phono stage exceeded my highest expectations. I've had several audiophile friends play vinyl on my system and have been equally impressed. I highly recommend this NAD.
