is a type of wrench that used by builders (are they called steelworkers?) assembling the frames of bridges, skyscrapers, etc. They use a tapered grip to align I-beams or whatever and temporarily secure them before installing several large bolts per joint. In real life, I assume all screws are the same size and a fixed size wrench is usually used. These wrenches can come in handy for the home mechanic when misaligned holes require slight retraining. Possibly when you have bolted together welded parts of a trailer frame or dolly frame and the welding has caused a deformation. I like this idea, but I'm not overly impressed with the construction or the quality of the wrench parts. . In particular, the design of the moving jaws and how they fit into the wrench bodies. I immediately noticed that the jaws on both wrenches are very loose and rattle. Yes, the jaw surfaces are now fairly parallel under light loads, but that's a pretty poor fit even by Chinese standards. What's worse is bad design; The moving jaws are very flat and irregularly shaped to resist bending, stretching, wear and further loosening. The moving jaws should fit lower and tighter on the body of the wrench and further down so that their deformation is less adversely affected. I just referenced a photo of the Crescent branded version of this tool and the jaw is (as I expected) much deeper and stronger. This wrench is designed and manufactured not to endure much use until the fixed jaw is pointing one way and the moving jaw is sagging the other way.
