Review on JBL Charge 5 Squad: Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker with USB Charge Out by Somsak Boonsri ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Product satisfying the quality of the product, good price.

In general, not bad for acoustics of this size, the sound is not bad for a novice audiophile - but only at medium and high volumes, at low volumes, the speaker "does not sway", detailing is lame. There are older brothers that sound better (in terms of bass depth) due to the larger size of the speakers and even stereo from one speaker - but this is stereo from a monoblock (where sound interference between channels occurs) and the weight of such speakers is twice as much i. E. significantly lose in mobility. Here, in a similar weight (or lower) - this is no longer a monoblock, but a stereo pair / two separate speakers, respectively, with the correct location relative to those listening to a completely different perception of music. Unlike huge older brothers, they easily fit into a suitcase, a good option for traveling by air. The best solution in the category is a mobile column up to 1kg in weight. I would like more in terms of the convenience of pairing two speakers with each other in stereo mode. I will not describe other aspects of use, because there is enough information and admiration in a hundred other reviews. All the best and enchanting listening pleasure.

Pros
  • Decided to leave a review because. no one shares their experience on using speakers in a stereo pair, and this is important because. in stereo, this acoustics is fully revealed. I bought two JBL Charge 5 speakers as a mobile stereo pair for trips. They fit perfectly in a suitcase, less than 2kg of total weight - not bad for a good sound with you, brighten up your pastime on vacation where you can get by air.
Cons
  • I ated the firmware to the latest on both speakers, and in some places the connection between the speakers "falls off", but after a few seconds it is restored again. In this case, if the volume on the "slave" speaker was set quieter (to form a scene in the room relative to the listener), the volume after the connection is restored becomes by default similar to the "master" speaker. This happens even at a distance of 3 meters, often during pauses in playback with a change in track. Through the "JBL Portable" application, you need to pair each time into a stereo pair after turning it on, it's a pity that the acoustics "does not remember" the previous connection state. It was written in the application that next time you can pair in "stereo" without an application, but in fact without "JBL Portatble" pairing occurs only in "mono" mode in any connection variations - I checked it with third-party applications for testing stereo channel by channel. In general, the "Partyboost" technology is rather damp for the stereo mode, it works confidently only in "mono" pairing, it is possible to "finish" the firmware later. The operating time is much less than stated by the manufacturer. Again, it is possible due to the use in a stereo pair. In nature, at full volume after 4 hours of listening - the "red" indicator starts blinking. Indoors - a full evening (6-8 hours) of active use at medium volume.

Its pros: It has a nice low bass sound and is actually quite loud. I like the jbl app with an equaliser which let's you adjust the sound how you like it. Has some cons Sometimes switches off randomly especially when the battery is getting low.

Blue column, ND version. I recommend.

There is not enough cover for the column or a carrying strap in the kit, and of course the price bites for such a column
