That's a great idea. But my bird is very large and when it pooped it went right through the shoulder pad and landed on my clothing. Also, it didn't hold the fabric very well. If the fabric were thicker and felt like fleece where the claws go, they might be able to hold on better. Even if you have a thin neck, it won't stop a bird from scratching you. It would be better if it could be adjusted around the neck. In general, this is a great idea, but it does require some work. Definitely needs to be regulated, especially for children.
