Works great in a 1966 home! The reason for my purchase was to have a low latency, low jitter alternative to ethernet as it was unacceptable for online gaming. I originally bought the same product at a brick and mortar store with a similarly priced USB Wi-Fi adapter to test what works best for my situation and spent over an hour doing speed tests, modem ping tests and juggling the other two Wi-Fi options I had (key, front vs. rear, etc.). In the end, while the Wi-Fi option averaged the same 2ms for my modem and the same 23ms for the SpeedTest, jitter became noticeable on bursts of 50 ping tests. On the wireless adapter I saw a lot of 2-3ms and occasional 65ms bursts, while the powerline never went above 7ms. After only connecting to an Ethernet network in my other home, this resulted in an average of +10ms in Battlefield 1 without any spikes or jitter. Your house will either have decent wiring (like mine) or it will be junk and no amount of power wiring will be able to get past bad copper.
