I have used Irwin SpeedBor Paddle Bits for many years and find them well worth the price. The hinged plastic case that came with these attachments is decent enough, but a lot bulkier than the vinyl roll I usually carry them in. I've found these bits to puncture quickly and cleanly when new, but have never been known to stay sharp. or as long with regular use. However, the price is low enough that they can be swapped out individually if needed. It seems that one encounter with a nail is enough to ruin one of these pieces. I don't usually have much luck resharpening these bits, although I sometimes manage to sharpen them enough with a small triangular file to finish the job when needed. I've tried using bits that have been professionally resharpened, but once those little wings on the outer ends are gone, they'll never work the way they used to. As an alternative to these Irwin bits I have recently started using Bosch Daredevil spade bits and so far I really like them as they make holes much faster.
