Review on Stanley 0 65 400 Screwdriver Parallel Multicolor by Raymond Gray

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Parallel tip - no flat tip

Things I like: Tip width is in metric units (also handle length - but not blade thickness (why?).) Good friction surface finish on handle. Parallel tip (AKA cabinet tip) - helps with use in countersunk holes (Keystone tips are for people who abuse tools) What's not so good: It's supposed to be chrome vanadium steel - my rough file test - just a touch. Don't sharpen hollow - the best screwdrivers - all 4 sides of the tip are aligned in the tip. When a wedge is present, it tends to push the blade back. It is not uncommon for you to want to use a screwdriver for many screws - but it damages the screw heads if they are not tight. There is no standard color code (2mm blade should be red - 4mm yellow - etc. see RMA or EIA RS-279). There doesn't seem to be an option to buy these metric screwdrivers as a set if you live in the US. Quality flathead screwdrivers are very hard to find.

Pros
  • Hand tool
Cons
  • Requires socket
