Review on Bexlands 0-1 Inch Outside Micrometer with Graduation by Josh Chenier

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Does not meet normal Chinese standards.

I have been a professional locksmith for about 33 years and have relied on Chinese micrometers 85% of that time. I have at least 3 Chinese microns 0-1 inch plus many other sizes and this is the worst I have ever seen. It would be fine for a 12 year old to play with for the first year, but for about the same money I think you could get better. I compare this micrometer with another Chinese one I bought around 1989. I believe the plastic grip panels on my old one were once marked "Swan Brand" but that mark was worn away from use long ago. Well, the first thing I noticed when I unpacked a new one was that the control panel was broken. It looks like it has a screw pulled through it. Pretty bad design what could happen. Then I noticed that there are bumps/grinding/lapping marks on the face of the measuring spindle which indicate that it is probably not flat. Of course not This no, and it already feels like a loose rattle, brand new even. I would avoid this micrometer.
