To be clear, if you are replacing the original PS4 optical drive, you must do two things: 1. You must verify the model number of your original PS4 optical drive. There are four models: BDP-010, BDP-015, BDP-020 and BDP-025. The replacement optical drive must match the model originally installed in your PS4 console, except for the BDP-020 and BDP-025 models, which are compatible with each other. Depending on the drive, you may need to remove the daughter board to find the model number.2. The optical drive daughter board and the PS4 motherboard are paired. Replace the original optical drive daughter board with a compatible replacement optical drive. A lot of the negative feedback here comes from people who didn't verify the drive's model number or replaced the daughterboard with a spare drive. It's a fairly simple exchange. You just have to remove the metal shields from the drives and remove the daughterboards, which have three cables connected to the mechanical part of the optical drive. Simply replace the circuit board with a new drive and make sure all three cables are connected to it. Trust me it's easy. I hope this helps some people who think it's just a plug and play solution.
