I have an oiler on my backhoe. I tried removing the pin and after several attempts gave up soaking the joint as best I could with a PB blaster and then heating and whisking. No luck, the pen didn't move at all. I decided to give this tool a try before calling a heavy equipment mechanic. This item is very easy to use. Filled with penetrating oil 3 in 1 and expelled the air. I then attached it to the grease fitting and after about 15 hammer blows the piston slowly began to move inward. 5 more strokes and the plunger was fully seated and I could see a drop coming out of the port. Then I refilled and injected another full dose. Oil leaked out of the joint. 10 or so simple pumps with a grease gun to force out the oil and replace it with grease and we're ready to start digging again.
